Walking in Beauty sponsored its first concert performance on July 27th, 2002 at the O'Shaughnessy Performing Arts Center in Whitefish, Montana. GEM, (with Mr. Blazer on drums, Ron Feuer on keyboards and Abraham Laboriel on bass) performed with featured guest artist Ernie Watts on saxophone. The concert was sold out. Many proclaimed the performance one of the most significant and gratifying musical events ever conducted in Northwest Montana.

One patron wrote: Awesome. Soulful. Romantic. The word on the street is that Ernie Watts and the GEM trio brought a sound to the Flathead that was so incredible that mere words fail to convey the power and virtuosity presented. Sold out to music enthusiasts, the audience of 350 people would have stood for half an hour in demand of an encore, had the artists not blessed the roaring group and returned to the stage... And then, the improvisational encore shook the house to its soul.
